Start with cafés and historic neighbourhoods, head up for Andes views and let the capital surprise you. Shape two days around walks, a welcoming base and clear costs.
Treat these neighbouring areas as one outing. Choose a cultural visit, a meal break and a walk through the park. Reference Metro stations are Universidad Católica (L1) and Bellas Artes (L5).
Entering Parquemet is free; services such as the funicular and cable car are charged separately. Compare the full outing, not just the first ticket. If your chosen service is not operating, change plans before travelling there.
With another morning, choose between the historic centre and a food-focused neighbourhood. Trying to fit both around a short arrival day can leave little time to enjoy either. Our suggestion is to pick your priority.
An editorial proposal for two full days. With just one day, use the first block and save the viewpoint for another visit. Breaks and travel are part of the day, too.

Day 1 · on foot
Lastarria → Forestal → Bellas Artes
Start around Universidad Católica, explore Lastarria and continue towards Forestal and Bellas Artes. Choose one museum or exhibition after checking its programme. Finish near a useful connection back to your accommodation; there is no need to retrace every step.

Day 2 · city views
Parquemet, then an open afternoon
Make the park and your chosen access the main outing. Check operation and weather on the day. Keep the afternoon for lunch, rest or a return to a favourite neighbourhood, rather than another tightly timed ticket.
A stopover is not a full sightseeing day: allow for arrival formalities, luggage, transfers and your airline’s check-in requirements.
Centropuerto lists routes to stops including Pajaritos and República. Choose one that suits your address and confirm terminal, stop and operation for your arrival. The private airport-bus fare does not include an onward Metro journey.
Red accepts bip! cards and supported QR payments. Its integration allows up to two transfers within 120 minutes under its rules, not unlimited journeys or a return trip on one fare. Metro prices depend on the time band.
Compare accommodation with its exact address on a map. For this route, consider the actual walk to L1 or L5, the last leg with luggage and your evening return. Ask for the full price, cancellation terms and luggage storage; a cheaper room can mean more transport costs.
For the funicular, cable car, paid museums and out-of-town visits, check the exact service and date. One attraction’s ticket is not a price for another.
For these two urban days, compare Metro and walking first. A car adds parking and access arrangements. Reconsider if you are travelling beyond Santiago, carrying substantial luggage or need a specific transfer.
What if it rains or visibility is poor?
Swap the viewpoint day for a cultural visit with confirmed opening. There is no need to buy another activity just to fill a slot; a flexible afternoon can also protect your reservations.
Does the guide certify accessibility?
We have not audited these routes on site. Before paying, ask about working lifts, gradients, surfaces and the exact access to the service you will use.
