Use arrival day to settle in and explore one city area. Stilt houses are homes and businesses: view them from permitted areas without assuming indoor access. Check opening hours for places you want to visit.
Day 2
The outing from Castro takes about two to three hours and requires booking at least two places. Equipment and a safety briefing are included; lunch is not. Arrange the meeting point, requirements and water conditions with the operator; weather can affect departure.
Day 3
Keep this day for a nearby visit or onward travel. For Ancud, other islands or a forest day, add nights and quote each connection. These three days establish a first base in Castro, rather than a complete Chiloé circuit.
02 · WHERE TO STAY
Alerce Nativo’s twin room is in Castro and has two beds. The double-bed room is a separate category and price. Confirm breakfast, taxes and cancellation before using the reference as a final amount. Staying in Castro does not include reaching the island, airport or kayak meeting point.
